Cibacalcin, Forcaltonin(calcitonin human)
Cibacalcin, Forcaltonin (calcitonin human) is a protein pharmaceutical. Calcitonin human was first approved as Cibacalcin on 1986-10-31. It has been approved in Europe to treat bone resorption, hypercalcemia, and osteitis deformans. The pharmaceutical is active against calcitonin; calcitonin gene-related peptide 1. In addition, it is known to target calcitonin receptor.

General
Drug common name | CALCITONIN HUMAN |
INN | — |
Description | Calcitonin is a 32 amino acid peptide hormone secreted by parafollicular cells (also known as C cells) of the thyroid (or endostyle) in humans and other chordates in the ultimopharyngeal body. It acts to reduce blood calcium (Ca2+), opposing the effects of parathyroid hormone (PTH).
