Drug
General
Drug common name | RAMIPRIL |
INN | ramipril |
Description | Ramipril is a dipeptide that is the prodrug for ramiprilat, the active metabolite obtained by hydrolysis of the ethyl ester group. An angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. It has a role as an EC 3.4.15.1 (peptidyl-dipeptidase A) inhibitor, a prodrug, a cardioprotective agent, a matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor and a bradykinin receptor B2 agonist. It is a dicarboxylic acid monoester, an azabicycloalkane, a cyclopentapyrrole, a dipeptide and an ethyl ester. |
